AMMAN, Jordan A second Jordanian-Syrian border post remained open because it is far from Deraa and other Syrian towns where clashes have been taking place. Information Minister Taher Edwan said the crossing from Deraa to the Jordanian town of Ramtha reopened Wednesday. Deraa is about six miles (10 kilometers) from the Jordanian border. Jordanian lawmaker Ahmad Shaqran, representing Ramtha, said the crossing is open now for 12 hours a day. He said traffic was back to normal, with dozens of vehicles ferrying passengers and goods in both directions.
