TIMISOARA- Organized crime prosecutors said they had charged the embassy's second counselor Marc Marius Itela Elombola in absentia on Wednesday, a day after his wife was caught with 1,800 cartons of cigarettes from Montenegro in her car. Timisoara county court in western Romania ordered that his wife, Esther Pascaline, be held for 29 days pending trial following the discovery. Her Serbian driver and two other Serb citizens were also arrested and charged. The four can appeal. They risk prison sentences of up to 10 years for smuggling.
